Suicidal Tendencies はカリフォルニア・ベニスを代表するハードコアパンクバンド草分け。ローカルのギャングスタファッションに身をつつみ、激しいスケートパンク、スラッシュメタルを演奏する。ロゴで使われているフォントはHouse industries のvence。物騒な名前と荒々しい音楽の雰囲気をうまくシンボルライズしていて文化的背景も伴ってLAの80’sスケートかカルチャーのシンボルのひとつとしても認知されている。
Suicidal Tendencies is a pioneering hardcore punk band from Venice, California. Dressed in local gangsta fashion, they play intense skate punk and thrash metal. The font used in the logo is House industries' vence, a symbol of the 80's skate culture in LA with a cultural background that symbolizes the rough and rowdy atmosphere of the name and the music.

VENICEは80年代のハードコアパンクシーンをモチーフにしたディスプレイ用のタイプフェイスです。House industriesのJeremy Deanによるデザインで、80年代のハードコアパンクシーンでフライヤーやラベルに使われていた荒々しい、直感的で攻撃的な文字をパックしたFlyer Packの中の一つのフォントです。Jeremyは当時のシーンのビジュアルを担った張本人です。
VENICE is a display typeface inspired by the hardcore punk scene of the 80's. Designed by Jeremy Dean of House industries, VENICE is part of the Flyer Pack of rough, intuitive and aggressive letters used on flyers and labels in the 80's hardcore punk scene. Jeremy was responsible for the visuals of the scene at the time.
